Best Practices: Analytical Framework for Design Management and Comparative Analysis of Design Management Institute Case Studies

by Maryann Finiw, Research Associate, DMI

This special report provides a theoretical framework for comparing and contrasting the management of the product development process in various companies. The framework applies seven key criteria for analyzing 15 DMI case study companies. The report makes a comparative analysis of the results and identifies how effective design management contributes, under a variety of conditions, to the product development process, to improved manufacturability and to superior product quality and performance. The complete package includes the 32-page report and copies of each of the 15 case studies.
