44 Papers Presented in Barcelona8th International Forum on Design Management Research and Education
The Design Management Institute is pleased to announce that 44 papers from thirteen different countries were accepted for presentation at its 8th International Forum on Design Management Research & Education, held November 20 -- 23, in Barcelona, Spain. This year's theme, "Fostering Strategic Design Cultures," was addressed from a variety of perspectives including, Fostering Strategic Design Cultures within Smaller Firms; Watches tell more than Time: Information Theory and Design Strategy; Conflict and Organization Learning in Design Teams; Design & Innovation in Successful Product Competition; and New Strategies for Measuring Design Performance.
The 8th Forum was hosted by the Barcelona Design Center and the IESE, one of Spain's leading business schools. The Forum first met at the Harvard Business School and since has met each year, alternating between Europe and the United States. Last year's Forum took place at Stanford University. Scholars and design management executives -- including practitioners as well as academics -- attended from a total of 13 different countries, including Europe, North America, and the Far East.
