Design as a Contributor to a Firm's Competitiveness

Financial and technical strategies alone will not assure business success. They are critical and ongoing aspects of doing business, they get firms to the door of the marketplace, but, whether the topic is industrial machinery, services, or consumer items, another essential dimension in the global marketing discussion is effective design management. It is a major factor in the recent reversal of the trade deficit with Europe. In instance after instance, the unique design of products is giving U.S. firms the competitive edge.
